A workforce of nearly one-half million people is within a 30-minute drive of University Research Park via a network of highways and Interstates. This road network is augmented by nearby rail lines, an international airport and a corporate jetport to get people and products where they need to be.

Companies with an eye to the future also want access to the highest level of research. The University of North Carolina Charlotte offers it through its Charlotte Research Institute, which houses three centers: optoelectronics, eBusiness and precision metrology. UNCC also has researchers and facilities for technology, mathematics, biomedical engineering and bioinformatics.
